Just a few things to do near 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge

When I visited the 1 Hotel, I did so without too much of an Itinerary. I did look scope out the area ahead of time and had the curated list from the hotel staff. Because I am an unseasoned traveler, I did not explore very much in the area, but I did do quite a bit of walking. This is what I discovered. Maybe you would be interested in these places if you happen into the area yourself

The Brooklyn Bridge

I think it goes without saying you should check out the Brooklyn Bridge. Why not, you are literally less than a minute walk away. I chose to walk alongside the waterfront and spend my time on the benches watching all of the other tourists get their best photos.

The Butler

This is a coffee shop/breakfast spot. I don’t remember what coffee I ordered. But I can tell you that the breakfast sandwich I had on a brioche bun made me rethink my aversion to runny eggs, while the cruffin made me feel like an elite bakery product snob.

Timeout Market

If you like me are filled with anxiety, that is equal parts indecisiveness and fear of venturing too far, this location will help you with a plethora of food options all under one roof. My first morning I was able to get a salmon lox bagel (that was mind numbingly expensive but I was too shy to say never mind) and then Indian Street food my last night.

Front Street Market

This was my first time in a legit vintage shop. This is also when I realized that vintage is no where near the same price as thrift. Even though I was intrigued by the Loewe bag that was at least 20 years and still in mint condition, I settled for cute greeting cards and candles. My budget was much happier with me.

Other than that, I just did a lot of walking pretending like I was a resident New Yorker. I am still learning how to travel well. Hopefully, the next time I post about travel, it will be filled with more adventures.
