No intro, I will just jump right into this review. I started using the Augustinus Bader Scalp Treatment in February in hopes that it would help with hair growth. At the time, I finished the bottle, not sure if it was working. I then stopped using it to see what results I might have using just the Hair Revitalizing Complex.

Augustinus Bader The Scalp Treatment
$80
Usage instructions: Apply to clean damp scalp, two to three times per week, concentrating the product on your problem areas.
After completing the 3 months, I have added it back in. Why? Well, I have dealt with, among many issues, a painfully sore and flaky scalp. I had tried oiling my scalp, but the products I had on hand, and then would later purchase, didn’t seem to help. I just had an oily flaky scalp instead. Not ideal.
My issue was especially prominent in the area that many people might refer to as sideburns. You know the strip of hair leading to your ear? Yeah, that area was always inflamed, and it was embarrassing. I originally got this product because I wanted to regrow the hair that had been shedding at my temples, but the scalp health benefits are why I particularly am reaching for it.
The instructions are to apply the product to a clean damp scalp. Which I do, right after washing and then proceed on to styling. When I first used the product, I would reapply it the next day as well or the day right after, just to make sure it really stuck. I don’t think that they would recommend you using it on next day hair, but I did. Now that I have started using the product again, I have only been applying it on my once per week wash days, and it still seems to really help.
Among benefits the brand lists is, “Refreshes, balances and soothes the scalp, returning it to its natural pH level and optimizing hair follicle function.” Multiple ingredients focus on improving blood flow to the scalp, stimulating new growth, and strengthening hair strands. Standout ingredients include TFC8 (their proprietary ingredient), maca root, hazel leaf, watercress, Indian cress, hazel leaf extract, bamboo extract, and vitamin B5.
Would I recommend you try this? Yes. Even if you don’t have the issues that I had, I can see this providing you with some benefits. And it isn’t at all oily, in case you might be worried about buildup. If you do try it, let me know how it worked for you.
