Yesterday, I wrote up my experiences with Estee Lauder skincare products. As a quick summary, I wanted to stick to it, but my skin was not showing signs that it was not improving using them. And because my skin was suffering as a result, I wasn’t enjoying my skincare.
I took a couple weeks off of using the products. But, then I went away on a trip and decided to give them another shot, since they were travel-sized after all. I took my Fresh Soy Face Wash as my cleanser, along with the moisturizer, serum, and eye cream. World of a difference.
I didn’t experience the level of dryness I was experiencing. Before, I woke up each morning with dry patches on my cheek and forehead. I still wasn’t a fan of the feel of the moisturizer (it was sticky), but at least it got to do more of a job. I was able to consider whether the product might actually be good. Same with the serum.
It is hard to tell if it was just the cleanser was so bad for me or if the essence was contributing as well. Because I was so intent on trying the brand as a whole, I made it harder for myself to really review the products because I was changing so much. And not every product in that box was good for my skin. I need to get better about quitting products that are not good for my skin, instead of trying to commit to them in the name of “science” or giving a thorough review.
Here are my final thoughts. I do not recommend the Perfectly Clean cleanser if you have dry skin. If you have very oily skin, or maybe just a very dirty face, go right ahead. Everything else, try out and see how you feel about it for your skin type. I’m willing to bet that if I had been using my own cleanser the whole time, I would have had a better experience. I would try the other products from Estee Lauder again. I have already tried the PowerFoil mask, just to be a bit extra.
