I really wanted to like the Estee Lauder set. It’s such an iconic brand, and they even have Anok Yai as one of the faces of the brand. Short story, I just didn’t like it. But I will dive more into my initial thoughts on some of the brand products, because the reasons why I didn’t like it might help you make a better decision for yourself.

I personally chose to get to know the brand by buying a gift set containing multiple products during the holidays. It just took me a while to get around to trying the set. As always, remember that I am reviewing all of the products as someone with dry skin. I also only used the products at night, and I was able to use the products for a few weeks.

Perfectly Clean cleanser– It is a squeaky clean type cleanser. I feel like it removes everything, even the moisture I do want. I was not a fan and will definitely never buy it again. It was just too harsh for my dry skin. (Note, the site recommends their cleansing balm for people with dry skin.)

The micro essence– I am so bad at this skin care reviewing game, because I still don’t get the point of essences. Maybe it helps? I don’t know, but it was in the box. I went a couple of days without using it. I didn’t notice a difference from the days where I did. It is hard for me to tell what it was supposed to do for me. Help with absorption, right? I feel like it should elevate everything in your routine. So, given my experience, I will have to pass on that.

Advanced Night Repair serum– Eh. Another product that I think is hard to judge in such a short time period. I also don’t know if I used enough with how tiny that little pipette is. I would try it again.

Revitalizing Supreme Eye balm– I don’t have major issues with wrinkles, so I can’t give a good review on that. I still don’t have many wrinkles, so yay?

Revitalizing Supreme Moisturizer– It feels… sticky. I am not sure if it is the other products working with it, but it doesn’t feel like moisturizing. It feels like I am just rubbing a coating onto my face. Does that even make sense? I noticed some forehead flaking. Not entire patches, but just enough to think, “Maybe my skin is not very moisturized.” In addition to that, I have noticed some small dry patches on my cheeks.
This a reflection I wrote on my experience then:
This seems a bit maybe ridiculous, but I want to enjoy my skin care. It is very possible that these actives are effective, but I am not enjoying this process. It feels like a chore. Plus, I know how I feel. I am not seeing a fading in my dark marks. I am skill getting maskne. Or rather I am starting to get maskne again.
I really want to stick to this and finish the products and give a full review, but at this rate, I am ready to call it quits.
After the two weeks were up, I put myself out the misery, I set the products aside to try something else. Tomorrow, I will post on my experiences when I gave the products a second try.
