In quite a few of my skincare reviews, you might of noticed me writing off some of the irritation I experienced to just being a result of issues caused by my face mask. I personally still wear a face mask when I’m out. If that is something that you also do, or will choose to do because of upcoming travel or another reason, just know that I found a better way. After over a year of scratchy cloth and disposable masks, I decided to try the silk face masks from Slip.

Important note, these masks are fully silk. I had seen too many masks that had a silk exterior, by the part that rubbed against your face was still cotton. Not helpful. Slip’s masks are silk on both sides. And it is so much smoother. When I first got the masks, they came with metal inserts that you could insert to form a nose bridge. I have since bought more which had the metal already inserted probably because other people had the same frustrating experience I did.

It was difficult to find that insertion point somewhere along the seam. And then when I did find it the metal piece slipped away and migrated down into the pocket of the mask. If I took my mask off and when I washed it, I had to maneuver the piece back in place. The new design takes away this headache.

 Other than them appearing beautiful, you probably care more about the wear experience. It is beyond pleasant. I noticed that I didn’t have chapped lips or overly dry skin at the end of the day. But I do find that it fits very close to face, which is great for its intended purpose, but not so great if you have to talk extensively.

Overall, though, given that I bought more after my first try, I definitely recommend them. Hopefully, you nor I won’t feel the need to wear masks as frequently in the upcoming months because the world is just healthier. But if you do choose to wear a face mask, I highly recommend it. Even at the price of $40, the fact that it is machine washable means that you can get the best bang for your buck while also taking care of your skin.

Also they are just prettier so prepare for compliments.
