Many people have talked up Laneige to a level that makes is seem like magic sent from fairies. Their lips are always lush. Skin always dewy. Meanwhile, I tired the lip sleeping mask and found my lips becoming flakier and flakier as time progressed. I tried the Lip Glowy Balm, even bought a three pack full of hope. I swiped it on my lips. Ooh, they were so glowy and glossy, but then I found myself applying every two hours if not more often. It was as if I hadn’t even put anything on them. Lies, they were peeling. Clearly, I had put something on them they didn’t like. The water cream did not impress me either. So, I swore off the brand, as maybe not for me. But then, I got the chance to try a deluxe sample of the Cream Skin Moisturizer and I gave them another chance.
I think I got about two weeks of use, off and on. This was shocking to me, but my skin was actually moisturized. I splashed the liquid on my face, because I had no idea how else to apply it. I should have looked that up. And I have to admit, because I had been burned by the brand before, I layered it with the Biossance Squalane Vitamin C oil.
On the Sephora site, they say the key ingredient is White Lea tea water. Apparently, it is rich in amnio acids “that strengthen, moisturize, and soothe skin.”
They suggest putting the product into your hands and smoothing in on your face. (Check!) You should layer it on if you need more moisture. But I am not quite sure how that would work, since it is a thin liquid after all. Would you just let it dry and then go again? That’s not entirely clear to me.
Anyway, I personally won’t buy a full size. I didn’t have any problems with the product. It did what it was supposed to do. I just personally still have reservations about the brand overall. And the application process will probably lead to me spilling quite a bit of it.
Should you try it? Absolutely, especially if you want a much lighter weight moisturizer that still gets the job done. Again, I have dry skin, so come to your own conclusions based on your skin type and preferences.
