Tata Harper Round 2: Full Size Reviews on a Dry Skin Type

Yesterday, I posted about the Tata Harper Discovery Kit. Even though I didn’t think that set of products was fort me, I still trusted the line after the first foray into their products and wanted try more things from them they promoted for drier skin types.

This is what I got as full sizes:

The Nourishing Oil Cleanser $86

The product comes in a glass bottle with a pump. You pump a bit into your hands, and then apply it to a dry face and work it in. Then add a bit of water to work the slight lather up.

I must admit, I don’t wear much makeup, or rather very often. But when I do, it is poorly applied in too thick a layer. In order to get that off I had to wash my face a few times. Because of my ignorance of the makeup world, I don’t know if that is normal. I would recommend doing the first cleanse by working the product in, wetting it and using a cloth to remove the majority of your makeup. Then go in and double cleanse.  I admit, I tend to use Fresh Soy Face Cleanser to remove mascara because I trust it around my eyes.

The Regenerating Cleanser- $86

I liked it too much to leave it after trying it in the kit. There is some physical exfoliant in there, but it is nowhere near as harsh as other brands I’ve experienced that felt like liquid sandpaper. This one is rather gentle and, for me, is fine to use a few times a week.

I also purchased a full size of this and began alternating days with that.  I actually just used it last night, as a means of refreshing my skin after some travel. Not much of a review here, I still like it.

The Water Lock Moisturizer-$68

It is a refillable container with a pump dispenser. You press the top down, and product dispenses from the top. If you read my review of the discovery set, I found this moisturizer to work much better for my skin.

However, it has a pro that is also a con. This is a moisturizer that has AHAs in it. It essentially is resurfacing your skin. I feel my complexion looked really good. When I wasn’t wearing a mask, people noticed. So those AHAs… The product packaging includes a warning that it can make your skin more sensitive to sun exposure, so you should be sure to wear sunscreen regularly. I constantly forget to put on my sunscreen. And then when I remember, I often don’t reapply throughout the day. For that reason alone, I have started looking at other skincare. I don’t want the thing that was meant to improve my skin start to lead to more issues.

Even though I am on the hunt for other products, I do recommend this brand. I did reach out to them to ask about which moisturizer might be better suited for my needs. When I said that I liked the Water-Lock Moisturizer but was worried about the sun sensitivity, they suggested the Repairative Moisturizer as an alternative. But I will hold off on buying that as I am starting to review other lines at the moment.

So what are your thoughts? Have you heard of the brand before? Would you be interested in trying it at this price point?
