I have to admit. As a style moment, I am not a fan of what has been referred to the Dad shoe. Specifically, I am anti-the-trend-of-wearing-new-balances-just-because-they-are-now-trendy-even-though-they-don’t-elevate-your-outfit. I pretty sure that’s an official group. Rather than leaving comments on influencer pages about how they look more like 80s working women on commute and can do better, I have decided to curate a set of options I believe can help tick some of the boxes you may hope to achieve with Dad shoes. Of course, this is all my opinion. Feel free to leave your own thoughts in the comment section below.
Comfort
I imagine a lot of the appeal of these shoes are that they are comfortable. However, they often clash and have a clunky nature does not provide a sense of polish that I would like to see in an outfit carefully chosen. Here are some pairs I think you should take a look at instead.

Trend
Perhaps your interest is in having a shoe that is on trend with what otheres are wearing. Well well, look no further than the timeless classic Converse. You may have seen my reviews of some interesting pairs of Chuck Taylors before. But you can’t go wrong with the classic style. Be it in white, black, or a fun bright color, a pair of Chucks says casual and cool in a sleeker silhouette. Check out this low top pair with padding for extra comfort.

Profile
Okay. Maybe you insist on getting a clunkier pair. Maybe give Athletic Propulsion Labs Techloom a try. The brand has a claim to fame as being banned by the NBA because they provided too much assistance to players’ vertical leap. You can only imagine the spring they will provide to your step. As a note, it is suggested you go up a half size from your typical size selection. Here, I went with a solid white pair that should make it easier to work into outfits.

If you are not an ultramathoner, weekend warrior, or anyone doing serious walking and running as exercise, please consider some of these other options. There are multiple comfortable and stylish shoes ready for you to snatch them up and make them a part of your outfit. The Dad shoe is tired. Let him rest and retire.

The useful lesson from celebrity drama
For better or more likely worse, I’ve been following the most recent celebrity court proceedings. While this is truthfully not at all relevant to my life, I have learned one key lesson. Be careful what you write. Yes, your wording in your major campaigns is run through with a fine-tooth comb checking to see how…
