The sweaters that have stolen my heart

I had seen a Max Mara cable knit sweater that I had been debating splurging on. Ultimately I decided against it, but it sent me down a rabbit hole of looking into sweaters I could equally fall in love with.

So now, I have some sweaters for you. Yes, where I currently live, spring starts next week, and hotter weather will be here pretty much tomorrow. All signs point to the need to put our sweaters into storage for the season. But I am still choosing to post this because a) A/C season is coming. Prepare yourself to be freezing in your office even though it is 90 degrees outside and b) I wanted to, and this is my blog. So there. Here are two sweaters that stole my heart and their less expensive alternatives.

The sweater that started this whole journey.

Max Mara Dorotea cable-knit wool cardigan

Originally priced at $795, but on The Outnet for $381

The luxurious long belted cardigan

Etro Intarsia-Knit Belted Sweater Cardigan

$2770

The admittedly still expensive, but less so alternative

Veronica Beard Carrington belted Fair Isle wool cardigan

$595

Fine, you get one more alternative, but that’s it.

Banana Republic Heritage Jacquard Cardigan

$190.00

And the wild card that is completely out of my current price range that I have not found an alternative for

Valentino Floral-embroidered hooded sweater jacket

$5200

(Wait for me dear jacket. I will come back for you in ten years when I am independently wealthy.)
